Baffle and plate spacing for 4X8 glazed air collector?
Question:
Does anyone have a good reference for proper spacing of the plate and baffles for a 4X8 air collector? Planning to take air in at one bottom corner and out at the other bottom corner. Plate spaced 2" from back of unit for airflow, 1" spacing between plate and glazing. One [...]
Tall & Thin?
Question:
Does any company manufacture a tall, slim solar panel? Dimensionally, I am thinking between 10 & 20 cm wide, and say, 2 or 3 metres tall? The kind of panel you could mount vertically against the blunt end of a wall, or lay flat on the outside edge of a patio [...]
powerbiking
Question:
My plan is to bolt a generator to a 4 x 8 plywood and then belt that to a bicycle windtrainer and make myself useful by charging a 12 V battery. I’m hoping to be able to charge enough to light up the laundry corner of the garage, and maybe some [...]
Ground source heat pump loop ground temperature
Question:
A few weeks ago, I had a GSHP system installed. Along with the loops, I installed temperature sensors so that I could monitor the temperature of the ground at the loops. In this way, I figured that I could monitor system efficiency during the course of the seasons. This [...]
RV solar panel mount
Question:
I’m interested in mounting two 100 wat panels on my RV. It’s a camperized van with a raised fiberglass roof. I don’t like the idea of drilling into the fiberglass roof to mount the panels. The panels would not be at there ideal angle laying flat on the roof and the [...]
independence from oil is here, and it is people powered
Question:
Well, since it is a heat-driven device, I’m not sure why anyone would speculate about independence from oil, and the Peltier Effect is clearly not a people-powered condition, since it relies on temperature differentials. radiomotive engine feasibility study
Question:
How feasible is one? I mean, all the mechanics sound good except the extreme vacuum requirements. Couldn’t some fancy vane configuration contest power outputs of solar panel wattage generation?
Response:
